About Our Cork Fabrics

The Cork Fabric we import is a natural, sustainable, vegan, PETA-approved, eco-friendly product from Portugal. It is considered to be Touch Pro and an upholstery grade quality. Cork has naturally occurring anti-mildew and anti-bacterial qualities as well as water-resistant properties that make it ideal for many products. Cork oak trees have their bark removed by skilled labor every 7-9 years or so and will keep re-growing the cork bark for up to 300 years! The bark then grows back and is harvested making it a truly sustainable product.

Our Portuguese cork has had a UV treatment and an abrasion test. It has been tested in external labs for abrasion (Martindale test), UV resistance, Vamp Flex, and Ignition (fire). It does have a soft flexible cotton woven backing that allows it to be sewn.

If you encounter a crease in your cork bag it will come out. To remove creases press the bag under heavy books or other heavy objects. Be patient as it will work. I sometimes spray my bag with water, put a plastic bag over the bag, and then put the books on it. Water will not hurt the cork. I do not recommend ironing the cork as the high heat may damage the cork and cause cracking or peeling.

Quality Assurance
Our products will be as free as possible from defects in the materials and in our workmanship. If our products do not measure up to this standard, we will either repair or replace the defective product within one year. This warranty does not cover damage caused by normal wear & tear, or misuse. If you have had a bag for 2-20 years we are happy to see if we can fix it but there is no guarantee as it may have just outlived its lifespan. (There is a repair charge depending on what is required, please email us.)
Returns

Please email or call us for a Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA#). We have the right to refuse returned packages that are received without the RMA#. This guides us in what the problem is and all the information we need for fixing your bag or crediting your purchase.
You will be responsible for the return shipping cost both ways. Once the returned product is received, you can either exchange the bag or get a refund (provided items are unused, unwashed, and with all original tags still attached).
If you would like a refund, we’ll refund you the cost of the bag and sales tax if there was any tax charged to you.
If you would like to exchange your bag, your new item of choice will be shipped after receiving the original item back to us. Please allow 7-10 days for delivery after the returned item is received. Please remember-- We make each item by hand in the order as it is received.
Returns should be sent via UPS, FedEx, Express Mail, or Priority Mail. All returns must be insured for full value. Please make sure to get a tracking number so you can follow the return process. Please note we are unable to accept COD deliveries.
Please note – No returns on sale items, custom items, or items bought from online discounted sales or at events where discounts are often offered.
